About

Married mama of one, telecommuting from cloud nine in Traverse City, Michigan. Digital marketer and photography dilettante. Southern expatriate family prone to frequent rideabout. Fell in love with NOMI, moved 1000 miles to make it home.

(Occasional posts c/o my better half. )

There is pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more,
From these our interviews, in which I steal
From all I may be, or have been before,
To mingle with the Universe, and feel
What I can ne’er express, yet cannot all conceal.

  1. Hey there. I came across your site, and was wondering about using one of your photos for album art. I like the picture rock-sunset-reflection-flipped-cosmic-orbit (however it’s actually called, not sure, but this is the title on the link). I make ambient music, you can check my profile out here: tonepoet.bandcamp.com. I will give you full credit and provide links. I’ve used artwork in the past that’s not mine, but this photo is great. Please let me know if something like this is okay. I won’t use it without our permission. Thanks!

    • ‘Your’ permission, not ‘our’! Haha!

Hey Thomas! Sorry for the late reply – I’ve been traveling & doing the Easter(/Ishtar) πŸ˜‰ thing with the family these past few days. I’m flattered you dig the image! As the wife of an ambient music fanatic/label owner and having had my own Good Friday Experiment style awakening that seems to be echoed in the themes in your work, I’d be happy to lend that image to your album. If you do a physical pressing, all I ask is for a copy of the cd or lp that the image appears on. πŸ™‚ I’m glad you reached out! – Jess

PS (Hoping that last reply came through!) – feel free to hit me up directly/privately at jesscliftonphotography@gmail.com 😁

Was referred here by another follower. ~ Gorgeous site. Charmed life. Truly. Want. The pics are amazing. ~ Presently FedXing myself to you. Put coffee on? πŸ™‚

    • Jess Clifton says:

Thank you so much! πŸ™‚ I’ll admit, I do feel life is charmed these days – a very far cry from former days, which is why I savor it so much. And the coffee is ALWAYS on! πŸ˜‰

Ran across your blog from Photocory, here on wordpress. You’re photos are very beautiful and you made me really homesick. I hope you’re enjoying MI!

    • jcee3 says:

Thank you for the compliment! I do adore MI. We migrated to TC from ATL, GA going on three years ago. The city just wasn’t for us anymore. Ironic that you say you’re homesick (whereabouts?) b/c we’re always daydreaming of what a European life might be like, haha. (Space trade, anyone?) πŸ˜‰ Best of luck finding a place bigger than a shoebox!!

      • Mrs. Isinvar says:

I am from EL but I spent a lot of time in Up North and in the TC area. Even with all the traveling I have done, it’s still one of my top 3 favorite places in the world.

I ran across your blogging through a google pictures search . It’s very nice to see someone appreciate the yarn bombing efforts . We work very hard to come up with creative ways to make people smile around town πŸ˜€ Welcome to Traverse City. I think your family will be very happy here πŸ™‚ – Jane

    • jcee3 says:

My little trio absolutely adores TC, as well as your yarn creativity πŸ™‚ Thanks for your kind words and your part in making this already-beautiful town even more stellar to gaze upon!

It looks so beautiful, very peaceful. I can see why you would be attracted to this wholesome looking environment. I wish your family nothing but happiness in your new home.
